Day 1: The Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Capitoline Hill
Our Roman journey began at the Colosseum, one of the most famous landmarks in the
world. We imagined the gladiatorial combat that took place here. Afterward, we wandered
through the Roman Forum, the heart of ancient Rome, before climbing Capitoline Hill for
stunning views of the city.
Day 2: Vatican City – St. Peter’s Basilica and Sistine Chapel
On our second day, we explored Vatican City, home to some of the world’s greatest art
treasures. We marveled at the grandeur of St. Peter’s Basilica and were awe-struck by
Michelangelo’s masterpiece, the Sistine Chapel. The art and architecture here left us
speechless.
Day 3: Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and Piazza Navona
Day three was spent exploring some of Rome’s most iconic squares and fountains. We
tossed a coin into the Trevi Fountain, climbed the famous Spanish Steps, and wandered
through Piazza Navona, where we admired the fountains and visited the beautiful
Sant’Agnese in Agone church.
Day 4: Exploring Trastevere and the Catacombs
We spent the day in Trastevere, a charming district with cobbled streets and medieval
buildings. We wandered through narrow alleys, enjoyed a local lunch, and visited the
Catacombs of San Callisto, learning about early Christian burial practices in Rome.
Day 5: Pantheon, Piazza del Popolo, and Villa Borghese
We started day five by visiting the Pantheon, one of Rome’s most well-preserved ancient
buildings. Then we walked to Piazza del Popolo, a beautiful square before heading to Villa
Borghese, where we spent the afternoon relaxing in the park and visiting the Galleria
Borghese, home to works by Caravaggio and Bernini.
Day 6: A Day Trip to Ostia Antica
A short train ride from Rome took us to Ostia Antica, the ancient port city of Rome. We
explored the well-preserved ruins, including mosaics, baths, and an ancient theater. The site
was quieter than Rome’s busy tourist spots and offered a fascinating glimpse into daily
Roman life.
Day 7: Final Day at the Palatine Hill and Farewell
We spent our last day exploring the Palatine Hill, where Roman emperors once lived. The
view of the Forum and Colosseum from the hill was breathtaking. We had lunch at a rooftop
café before enjoying a final walk through Rome’s lively streets.
